A half-bot, an empath, a punk, and a god walk into a 23rd century bar. The
four team up to uncover who murdered their esteemed science professor to
steal his dark research. The four headstrong misfits must overcome their own
inner demons and move quickly to nab the culprit, as whoever has taken
Ferguson's research has unleashed the doctor's synthetic plagues onto NYC.
Humans and hybrids are going feral, eagerly infecting others with newfound
agony. If the team can't work quickly to solve this threat, NYC will be
devoured by this plague...which appears to be developing sentience.

This was a unique read with a vivid world that manages to captivate and submerge the reader from the very start.
Be prepared for an involved ride of a read, it's dark at times in the best way.
It’s a great read that kept me as the reader engrossed.
(J.T. Baroni, pictured with the tombstone that inspired the story)
Living in Western Pennsylvania all my life, I’ve been an avid
Whitetail hunter since old enough to tote a rifle, which is also about as
long as I’ve had a fondness for word games and literature.
While hunting one year, I actually did stumble upon a weathered tombstone
in the middle of the woods.
While waiting patiently for that big buck to cross my path, I had plenty of
time to ponder the dead girl's fate, which I was then driven to write.
Eerily enough, this is the premise of The Legend of Rachel Petersen, my
first novel published in 2012, which I recently revised.
A newly retired transformer repairman, I refer to Johnstown, Pennsylvania,
a small town outside of Pittsburgh, as home.
My wife Becky and I share our abode with two retrievers - Piper, and

This book will consume you, it's wonderfully written.
As I read it I got the distinct impression I was in the middle this thriller right along with the characters.
I especially enjoyed the way the author made us second guess ourselves as we read. It's not predictable which is a huge plus.
This cover is gorgeous and really speaks to the theme well! Superb writing, a great story!

Are religion and science incompatible? Many people think so and this is a deep dive into that. When science dismisses your question about why you exist or what is your purpose, philosophy helps connect the reality of things you can prove and others upon which you can only speculate. This is a book for people willing to think.
